The Argentine Football Association (AFA) responded to a notice from the Ministry of Human Capital, which had warned that the so-called 'AFA University' (UNAFA) lacks state authorization and ordered the immediate cessation of all advertising related to its supposed undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The ministry, led by Sandra Pettovello, through the Undersecretariat of University Policies, stated that the AFA was advertising academic programs 'without official recognition', emphasized that no entity can use the word 'university' without state approval, and recalled the restrictions established in the Higher Education Law and ministerial resolutions 206/1997 and 4600-E/2017. In response to the notice, the AFA issued a communiqué clarifying that UNAFA 'is not a university' but a 'recently launched study center', whose initial goal is to provide training and, in the future, 'to aspire to become officially recognized as a private university'.
